Sex addiction includes nine elements: the "high", tolerance, dependence, cravings, withdrawal, obsession, compulsive behaviors, secrecy, and personality change.
A sex addict need not have all of the elements in order to qualify as an addict but anyone who has more than three of the elements should consider himself or herself, or be considered by others, a possible sex .
The more elements are present and the more intense each element is, the more likely the person is a sex and love addict.
The more symptoms the person has and the more severe the symptoms are, the more serious and potentially lethal the disease.
