Endorphins have properties identical to narcotic opioids such as morphine, heroin, methadone, and meperidine.
These cause euphoria and control anxiety, rage, and aggression.
Cocaine and amphetamines work similarly but through a different avenue, the dopamine pathway . A deficiency in endorphins or dopamine will produce the opposite effect of the opioids: anxiety, supersensitivity to rage, aggression, depression, paranoia, low self-esteem, and suicidal ideations.
People are under the influence of their endogenous opiates and endorphins.
